Questions

A Note to Our Families

Our ultrasounds are elective, non-diagnostic, and just for fun! We love helping you bond with your baby and create special keepsakes, but these sessions do not replace your doctor’s ultrasounds or prenatal care.

What happens if you see something concerning?

No. Our ultrasounds are non-diagnostic. That means we cannot provide medical advice, measurements, or diagnoses. If we ever see something unusual, we may recommend you follow up with your doctor right away, but we leave all medical care to your provider.

Are these ultrasounds covered by insurance?

No. Because our ultrasounds are elective and non-diagnostic, they are not billable to insurance. Payment is required at the time of service.

What’s the difference between 2D, 3D, 4D, and HD/5D ultrasounds?

  • 2D: Classic black-and-white ultrasound.
  • 3D: A three-dimensional still image of your baby.
  • 4D: A real-time video of your baby moving.
  • 8K: The latest technology—sharper, more realistic images with natural skin tones.

Can you guarantee specific images of my baby?

No. Ultrasound image quality depends on multiple factors including fetal position, maternal body composition, placenta placement, and amniotic fluid levels. While we make every effort to capture clear images, no guarantees can be made.

What should I do to prepare for my appointment?

  • Hydration is key – You should come with a full bladder (drink 1 or 2 liters of water two hours prior the appointment) and, if possible, eat something sweet.  This helps improve fluid levels and image quality.
  • Wear a two-piece outfit so we can easily access your belly.

What if I’m expecting twins?

Yes, we can scan twins! A longer session is required.  Please note that clear images of both babies at the same time cannot be guaranteed.

Do you offer extras like heartbeat animals or videos?

Yes! You can add keepsakes such as:

  • Heartbeat animals: A stuffed animal with your baby’s recorded heartbeat.
  • Printed photos and digital video clips: Provided immediately after your appointment.
  • Gift cards: Perfect for friends and family

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and cash. No checks.

When is the best time to see my baby in 2D/3D/4D/HD?

  • Anytime in pregnancy is special!
  • Gender scans: 14–15 weeks and later.
  • 3D/4D/HD scans: Best between 27–34 weeks, ideally 30–32 weeks.
  • After 35 weeks, baby’s size may limit visibility, but every pregnancy is unique, and we’ll always do our best to capture beautiful moments.

Sovara Life offers both elective and diagnostic ultrasound imaging in Port St. Lucie, Florida. We proudly serve expecting families and patients across the Treasure Coast, including Jensen Beach, Palm City and Fort Pierce.

Our elective services include 2D, 3D, and 4D keepsake ultrasounds, gender determination, heartbeat recordings, and high-definition prenatal imaging for bonding and memory-making purposes.

Our diagnostic services are performed by RDMS-registered sonographers and require a physician order. All diagnostic exams are interpreted by a licensed radiologist, with reports sent to your referring provider. Diagnostic imaging is intended for medical evaluation and not for keepsake purposes.

Elective ultrasounds are non-diagnostic and intended for bonding and keepsake purposes only. All images and recordings from elective sessions are for personal use and not a substitute for professional medical care.
